I believe he was the head coach for the Jets.

I don't know but... he was previously the defensive coordinator for the Cowboys.

As for other Browns coaches I would also say Pat Shurmer.

Art Shell for Oakland was pretty bad. I also would say Tom Cable.

Some of these coaches were successful college coaches but were also unsuccessful NFL coaches including Greg Schiano, Nick Saban, Steve Spurrier, and Lou Holtz.

Looks like Chip Kelly is about to be added to this list.

I think so even if he made the playoffs with Philly only once.

Art Shell was bad the second time around. His first stretch as a HC.. 5 of 6 seasons with a winning record. (7-9 the one losing year).. Playoffs 3 of 6 years. AFC championship game once. Jay Schroeder as QB.. Could throw the ball the length of the field, but god only knew where it would land.

He came back after 6 years of not being a coach.. That was just a mistake all the way around.

Norv Turner.. Saw he was mentioned before. He's a great OC.. Horrible HC.

Lovie Smith.. Someone mentioned him a few pages back.. Never should have been fired by the Bears. He went to a Super Bowl (and nearly won it) with Rex Grossman as QB. He should be in the Hall of Fame for that alone.
