Down 20 points in the 4th quarter................on a backup QB no less!

Interestingly, Cutler wasn't the reason why Shanahan was fired in Denver (the defense was). I can see a Shanahan / Cutler reunion.

I can't imagine who would want that job with a crappy QB and a inpatient front office.

Ken Whisenhunt admits he “maybe” overestimated the Titans | ProFootballTalk

When Ken Whisenhunt was hired as the Titans’ head coach this year, he said he didn’t need patience because he thought his team was good enough to win right away. Now Whisenhunt thinks he may have spoken too soon.
Clausen was a first round talent whose only real question marks coming into the league were attitude based, and he never really got a chance to succeed in Carolina. He's still young and physically talented, and as a project you could do a lot worse.

Actually, it was Cutler to a large degree. His poor play down the stretch was a big part of the 3 game losing streak to close out the season.

Have to differ here, Clausen was an obvious reach:

National Football League: NFL Draft 2010 - Jimmy Clausen

"He has close to a ¾-arm delivery which coupled with his lack of top height can cause some of his passes to get knocked down or tipped by pass rushers.

Has a strong arm but lacks premier arm strength and may struggle at times fitting the ball into windows deep down the field."

NFL Power Rankings: Jimmy Clausen and the 25 Most Worthless Players in the NFL | Bleacher Report

"That being said, Clausen's college record did not match the success of Tim Tebow or Colt McCoy. At the end of the 2010 season, both quarterbacks had shown much more ability to succeed in the NFL in limited appearances than Clausen did with 13 games.

Clausen's body language was terrible, his footwork was awful, he did not adjust well to the pace of the pro game and he made terrible decisions.

His final stat line? Three touchdowns, nine picks and a 58.4 QB rating."

Not much there to tell me he has any more upside than McClown did.

He most certainly was.

By the time Roger Goodell finally read Clausen's name he had fallen deep into the second round, going 48th overall to Carolina. Clausen was projected as a first-round pick. Indeed, a top 10 pick.
