Again, there is a REASON that 80% of the teams with byes win. Their more rested, and they have an extra week to prepare (study film) which is probably the most important reason.

Many teams like the Giants had "momentum" going into round 2 and lost IMO.

Its not a knock on them. They just have the deck stacked against them that's all.

I did a little research about the 3 wins in one season....

Since the AFL-NFL merger in 1970, teams had played 3 games in the same season 53 times, but only 17 of those included teams that won both regular season matchups, according to STATS inc.

In 11 of those 17 games, the team that won the first two games also won the third, the last time by St. Louis over Seattle in '04.

Again, this won't mean much on Sunday, but you can't discount it since the large majority of games have been won by teams that won the first two.

This is a tough one. I like Romo but I really want to see Eli do well for a change. He's been playing great towards the end of the season and I'd love to see him keep it up. But then again, I want the Packers in the Super Bowl so I guess this one really doesn't matter much to me.

What is more unlikely..

That Eli has three good game in a row and beats the Cowboys?

or that the Cowboys beat the Giants three times in a row...

The Cowboys win this one going away in the 4th.

I'm pulling for the Giants ... just so the Packers get home field for the NFC championship game.

Default Go Giants!

I think the Giants have a very good chance of winning over the Cowboys...especially at looking how the Cowboys have been playing lately! Reality is the entire season the Cowboys have been winning games...but they won very sloppy...never just a clean cut win and they barely win at that. Not to mention that Jessica Simpson's comments could either push the team out or push them ahead since they used it as an excuse for Romo's performance previously....how weak! They are supposed to be more focused than that at a time like this...therefore Giants will win!!

And I guess the cowboys wins over the giants twice were "sloppy"?

A win is a win. No team (even the Pats) wins all their games convincingly.

Now, I would agree w/you that focus is not Romo's strongpoint right now.

This all boils down to TO's health. If he can be effective w/the high ankle sprain, I really think the Giants are in trouble. If he can't be effective, then Dallas is just another mediocre team IMO.

History has shown he can be effective playing hurt. We shall see though.

My question is, when did the Cowboys, a 13-3 team, become an underdog? All over ESPN and local stations I've been hearing that the 'Boys have no shot and they should be worried.

???????????

Uh, they only lost 3 games for a reason. They have home field for a reason. And speaking of home field....
The Giants have won 8 strait away games, but when was their last loss? In Texas Stadium, against the Cowboys.

Anyway, I say Demarcus Ware has another field day with Eli and we will be focused.

Go (for #6) Cowboys!!!!!!!

I've been watching ESPN and don't get the same vibe "the boys have no shot". That being said I hope that Romo get's a delayed reaction of Montezumas revenge right around the time that he takes his first snap from center and soils himself on national T.V. Hopefully Terrell Owens will do something stupid early and get himself tossed and maybe Jessica Simpson will break it off with Romo just before game time (and announce that she will now be dating Eli Manning) but still show up to the game in a scanty outfit. All kidding aside, I'm a Giants fan and I'm looking for them to give a good accounting of themselves. I'll take the Giants and the 7 1/2 points.

The Giants will not win. Eli has sloppy footwork when under pressure. The Cowboys bring extreme pressure with Ellis and D Ware...as well with corner and safety blitzes...

Look for Eli to have one fumble and two picks. Eli has no Jeremy Shockey to help him out (Shockey kept the Giants close with his career day against the Boys).

Word is the Owens looked good in practice yesterday and had only a slight limp...he ran his routes well and more importantly was able to cut well.

I read somewhere that this will be the first ever meeting between the NY Giants and the Dallas Cowboys in the playoffs. Even though both teams face each other twice in the nfc east each season, they have never played each other in the playoffs. I did not research this, but I did read it somewhere.
My prediction is that dallas wins the game.
