Yep, that was the most disappointing one for me as well. Incredibly, many Arizonans actually climbed on the Cardinals bandwagon that season, thanks to the rise of both Kurt Warner and Larry Fitzgerald.

Until then, most of us were mostly lukewarm to both the Cardinals team and its ridiculous bird name. I guess we would have preferred the name to have been more wild west, such as Outlaws or Gunslingers!

They may have been favored, but it was all offense, and we know defense wins championships. Since 2004 the Pats have been all offense with a sketchy defense. This is the first year since 2004 where the defense looks like it would be the difference in a game.

There are few who can boast such an accomplishment like you said, none during the Patriots recent run besides themselves. When i started watching the NFL, the Cowboys were on top and remained their for 20 years. They reached 5 Super Bowls, won 2 and played in 12 conference Championship games in a span of 17 years. They had 20 winning seasons in a row, reaching the playoffs 18 of those 20 years. Unprecedented! The only way I can explain it to anyone that has been a fan for only the past few decades is to point to the Patriots of today. They are the only team that comes close to resembling the Cowboys of the late 60s, 70s and early 80s. If the Patriots continue this run for another 5 or so years and were to add another Super Bowl, they will be in a class all by themselves!
I think the difference with this team is they have GRONK who is a beast and that 2007 team didn't have anyone like that. If that team had Gronk they would have scored more than 14 pts in the game

Giants Vs pats the second time. So close dude, that one missed catch sealed the deal.

Its one thing to lose in a Superbowl, but another experience to lose towards the same team & QB twice .

If they had Gronk, they might not have been chucking it deep to Moss all the time and might not have been undefeated or in the SB. Their offense was totally different back then.

True. It was Moss + Welker in 2007 and Welker + Hernandez in 2012. The style was different before Gronk.

The second one was a loss due to bad offense on part of the Pats, not due to an amazing play made by the giants. That's what upset me.
