by booing a 14 year-old girl who paricipated in the Punt, Pass & Kick competition. Because she was wearing a Patriots jersey (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-patriotsprogress&prov=ap&type=lgns - broken link).

Yeah, I heard about this too. I think this is lame and had I been at the game, I would not have done that. I feel bad for the poor girl.

I don't think its a big deal at all. Its part of rivalry and even a 14 year old girl understands it:

Quote:
Kraft knows the hoots were not directed at the high school freshman from Stratham, N.H., about 20 miles north of the Massachusetts border. It's just that the jersey provokes an instant response, usually a negative one.

Grant also understands, and even smiled when she heard the boos.

"Before I went down there, my friends said, `You know, you'll probably get booed,"' she said in a telephone interview. "I was kind of waiting for it.

"It really didn't bother me at all," she added. "People at the game came up to me afterward and said, `It's not you. It's your jersey."'

I find no problem with it at all, just think if she'd had been at Foxboro with a Manning jersey on.........same response. It shows there is a good rivalry with these two teams, its alright in my book.

I absolutely agree with you.
I'm just happy that it did not happen in the NJ/NY area.

Who cares, it wasn't that big of a deal. Imagine what would happen to a girl wearing a Cowboys jersey in Philly...

I'm sure the girl understood it. Either way, I would hate the feeling of being booed while doing the activies. But I guess that's the price you pay when you wear a Patriots jersey to a Colts game.

I'm glad she understands it wasn't directed at her. Though it would have been nicer if it didn't happen, it's somewhat understandable given the rivalries....

When you think about how they cheered Micheal Irvin's carrer ending injury, I couldn't imagine.
