Point being, that kind of performance won't cut it against the Giants and the Patriots will lose if they are playing that far off of their "A" game. The performance against Jax was actually the better performance, and that type of performance will lead to a close game if the Giants are still playing hot. The Patriots just barely squeaked by the Giants in the season closer, so obviously they can beat them. But I don't consider it a given.
It doesn't matter. The NFL wants them to win, it's a great storyline. They've already won it, they should just go ahead and give them the trophy and spare us all who don't live in NE.

I'd like to think that Superbowls can't possibly be rigged, but all I have to do is think back to the Steelers/Seahawks 2 years ago.....yep, they can be rigged.

I thought other than Brady, the Pats played very well against a tough team...the defense held the Chargers twice at first and goal, and again when they had a first down at the NE 13 yd line. Maroney had 122 yds, Faulk had 8 catches for 82 yds. Brady didn't have his best game, but supposedly he was playing with a high fever....many of us who watch the Pats every week thought he looked sick, pale, not himself etc, so it's probably true. If so, the fact that he could play at all, along with Rivers playing as well as he did after arthroscopic surgery six days ago, says a lot about what those guys are made of - man, they're tough!

Were you watching the same game as I was. Yes they are tough guys but my grandmother could get around better than Rivers could on Saturday. I still say having a healthy Rivers and Tomlinson and everything else being the same in that game, it's a Charger / Giant superbowl.

What about Patriots-Rams at the end of the 2001 season? The Rams dominate the league all year, and then they get to the SB and totally change their game plan ... and the Pats win a squeaker. 2001 ... the PATRIOTS ... I'm just sayin'. That one has always seemed fishy to me.

Congrats to the Giants!

As an aside, has anyone heard the team's latest complaint about the field conditions in Phoenix? The Giants are afraid it'll have too much moss in the end zone.
