I can say this with almost 100% certainty that if they REALLY WANTED Jones for whatever reason he would've been there for them at #17 which was the Browns pick. So, the fact they not only passed on Haskins, but took a QB that would've been there for them later on in the round anyways to pass up drafting Allen gives them an F.
And now they'll never more on from Eli, since this Jones is a spitting image of Manning.

I find it dazzling that Gettleman has a over-loyal attitude to Eli when in Carolina, he had no problem telling beloved players with more tread left on their tires to get their crap and hit the bricks.
If you like him at 17 then take him at 6. You don’t mess around with the QB position. Get the guy you want. Not who’s leftover. Giants made a good decision. Will he bust or not? Only time will tell.

Here is the thing--I didnt like him at 17 either!
But you are right: If he proves to be great, none of this stupid debate will matter. Plus, I know the NFL Draft pundits are pretty much idiots, too.

I totally understand your frustrating. You are talking to a guy that wanted the Bills to draft anyone but Josh Allen last year. But now I wouldn’t trade him for any other QB taken last year and that includes Baker Mayfield whom I still love and think will be great.
Daniel Jones looked good in his debut, but it was only one game. But to be fair, can you imagine if he had went 1/6 with a pick? They would be killing him in NY.
Let's see how he does tomorrow night against the Bears...
One can only hope that the young Giants secondary gets better as the season goes along, and the communication gets better as well...
