Patriots release LB Brandon Spikes after his car found abandoned

I happened to be in the area Sunday and it was all over the local news. Got home Monday and it was like it never happened.

"Per a statement, police said they found a Mercedes Maybach abandoned in a median on Interstate-495 near Foxborough, Mass., near the Patriots' facilities early Sunday morning. The car had front-end damage, and a representative from the OnStar navigation system told officers the driver had reported hitting a deer. No deer was found at the scene, police said.

Shortly after responding to the report of the abandoned Maybach at 3:30 a.m. ET, police were also called by the occupants of a Nissan Murano, who reported they had been rear-ended by an unknown vehicle in the same area of I-495 Sunday. The three occupants of that car, an adult man and woman along with a 12-year-old boy, were transported to a hospital with minor injuries."

Pats let him go. I guess after Hernandez, deflategate and spygate they can't afford any more gates.

What's to cover? A potential hit and run originally reported as hitting a deer. Car left abandoned. Patriots don't even care as they want to push away any potential issues.

I had to Google him. Get back to me when a politician or George Clooney gets into a hit and run.

Brandon Spikes played for the Bills for the 2014 season.

He is a two-down linebacker, and overrated by many Buffalo Bills fans. He is one of the, if not the best run stuffing line backer, but is slow adnd is terrible against the pass. If the Bills can sign him for vet-min, then maybe Buffalo should consider him, but I doubt he makes the final 53 if he signs with Buffalo.

You claim "no coverage"... and then post a link to an article covering the story...

Why the original post in the Politics forum? In other words, how precisely are you trying to politicize this story?

Do you see some diabolical reason the media isn't covering this story (ignoring, for the moment, that it is - a google of brandon+spikes+collision gets over 120,000 hits)?

Let's see:
Former 2nd-round draft choice who is just a mediocre player involved in an apparent hit-and-run in which there are minor injuries. Whoa! Stop the presses! Break into regularly-scheduled programming! Get Chopper One to the scene!

Not diabolical, but the media is engaged in selectively presenting sports scandals.

USA Today reports: Spikes has been charged in Massachusetts w/leaving the scene of a personal injury crash, operating a motor vehicle negligently to endanger, speeding and failure to stay within marked lanes. Not the end of the world, but multiple criminal charges are more serious than slightly deflated footballs. But you wouldn't know that based on how the media gleefully fixated on Brady's victimless scandal for days on end.

yeah, not necessarily diabolical, but the media prioritizes stories that they perceive to be valuable as gossip, & demotes stories that may be more relevant to public safety, etc (like a reckless Spikes). Not diabolical, but the so-called mainstream media is largely useless gossip for cultural-Marxists now.
