Wow, $31m signing bonus sounds sweet. The rest of the contract seems worth it though, provided he doesn't get injured on a running play one day. He's been fantastic.

Russell Wilson signs a huge contract
Was there really any doubt? Seattle would've been crazy to lose the guy.

Will be interesting to see what players will be given the option to test the market in the next couple of years.

As for the contract, it is definitely deserved.

Hmm... Even as a Seahawks fan, while I think Wilson is a very good QB, I won't put him on the same elite level as Rogers, Roethlisberger, Luck, Brady, or Brees. That said, he's one of the best young QBs in the league, and I guess that's what teams have to do these days.

Harrison has him ranked 7, which seems about right, though he has Romo ranked 7 () which makes me question his credibility a little.

Outrageous that any athlete be paid that kind of money. We don't pay surgeons or rocket scientists that kind of money.

Nothing wrong with athletes making big money because they bring in big money but 5-10 Million should be more than adequate.

Some goes for CEO's making 20M + a year.

It's the fans who go to the games or pay for TV that get stuck with the bill.

Who is "we?"

I guess you don't have a problem with the owners making huge amounts of money compared to these guys?

At least finish reading a post before you make a dumb comment.

Man Seattle is really going to have trouble retaining some of their soon to be free agents. I think that Wilson is a good QB, but certainly not worth the money he is getting.

Call me when a surgeon has 70,000+ people paying to watch him work with another million or so watching on TV.
