Do I have this right? A team can kick a field goal for one point if they are penalized on a play in which they are going for two? Seems like they should forfeit any point after points if they are penalized when going for two. Or make them kick the ball an additional 5 or 10 yards further away. Otherwise what is to stop a team from trying to hold, pick, and cheat their way into the endzone?

They're not going to penalize them 10 yards for holding? Because a 43 yard FG is no sure thing.

My understanding is they will kick it from the same spot as normal which is the 15 making it a 32 or 33 yard try. If a team has an offensive penalty like holding when attempting a 2 point conversion they should be penalized 10 yards and forced to try it from the 42.

I agree. I'm not sure how I feel about the rule, but I'm not too worried about Justin Tucker missing a relatively short FG.

I think that if there was going to be any change to the PAT, it should have been to force the use of a drop-kick instead of a held place-kick. I'd think that that would bring a little more uncertainty to it than just moving the line of scrimmage back a few yards.

I wouldn't mind seeing them do away with the extra point all together. TD=7..
they could spice it up some by giving more points for long TD plays or even longer FGs.
Say 4 points for a 50 yard plus FG
Say 8 points for a 50 yard TD play..

the extra point is silly and moving it back 10 yards will not help much..

I think they sell more ads with the extra point diversion. Isn't going anywhere for that reason.
