Did anyone notice that one of the officials was a women....I wouldn't have if the network hadn't focus the cameras on her. She did her job so why was she singled out?

The media has a tendency to do that. They will focus on or point things out that are either new, spectacular, or wrong! In this case I have to believe it had to do with NEW.

Yes I have to agree with you on that...I remember going to a minor league baseball game in the 50's and a black umpire was behind the plate. The press report was more about a black umpire than the game.
His name was Emmett Ashford and he was an instance hit with the fans. He later was promoted to the major leagues.

I remember when they started that up 28 years ago. I thought - what kind of nonsense football is this? Is it football or indoor soccer? Why are they playing balls off of the nets? The pre-snap backfield motion looks like the CFL.

Now it gets coverage on the major networks. I did not see that coming.
