he threw for one touchdown so far, and has two interceptions, where as mariota threw for four touchdowns, only three incomplete passes and NO interceptions. mariota has been pulled from the game to save him from possible injury, with a passer rating of 158.3.

everyone was talking about how winston would be the greatest thing since sliced bread in the NFL, and the mariota could not adapt easily to the pro game. i said i would rather have mariota over winston, looks like i was right, again.

Mariota, as an NFL QB, looked about as good as many people had hoped! To be as kind as possible, I was exceptionally glad that Jameis Winston was the one who, uh... had a loss handed to him!

There is something about Winston's attitude, personality that bugs me, listening to him in interviews.

Love that his TWO losses since he started his college and pro career all came from a Mariota butt whipping.

Rbohm,
In Winston's defense, it's one game in his rookie season.. Rookie QBs should be given a larger sampling before they're judged. Don't forget how weak Terry Bradshaw looked early, even eventual Hall-of-Fame champs need & deserve time to develop.

But to your broader point, I'm also thinking Mariota will be a better long term investment than (In)Famous Jameis. I have little to no confidence in Winston's potential. I think he'll struggle with the cerebral aspects of NFL quarterbacking, and sustaining accuracy. But time will tell, & don't think his debut was bad..

i do agree with you that winston could be much better than he showed in his first game. it also possible that mariota just had a fantastic game, and it wont happen again. either way i am not commenting on the long term, but rather the start.

we shall see what happens as the season progresses.

Also don't forget how RG3 was being hailed as a God following his rookie season. How's that working out for him?
