austinsmom and exhdo1, maybe I'm being a little naive since I was such a huge fan of Barber. But part of me thinks Barber still cares for the Giants (and did back in Sept. when he dissed Manning). So I still think that Barber dissed Manning for a couple reasons: 1.) to light a fire under his ass and 2.) it makes for good media. But I admit I'm probably not thinking rationally.

You could be right beowulf7. I found an article at lunch in the NY Times (can't post the link b/c I can only get to it during lunch....damn internet police). It said that Tiki was on the field Sunday night after game (I didn't see any of his reports) and that several guys gave him a hug and said they wish he were there for the win. One of the players said they believe exactly what you just stated. Tiki was asked about his dissing Manning and if it worked. He just laughed and said with Eli you can't tell b/c he never listens to you. I just personally have never liked it when any athlete disses on any team member or coach in public. It just rubs me the wrong way.

Is this the article? I hope Barber returns one day to the Giants as a RB coach.

“Those are my guys,” Barber said Thursday from his home in Manhattan. “I went down on the field after the game, and there wasn’t one guy who didn’t come up and give me a big hug and say, ‘God, I wish you were still here.’ There wasn’t one guy.”
