Didn't he have some other health issue way back in his coaching days?

He also had vocal problems when he called NFL games for CBS back in 2000.

Always been a big fan. One of the biggest screw job ever was when the league ruled his innovative full time hurry up offense illegal right before the AFC Championship Game. How stupid does that ruling look now?

Botched surgery I understand caused his vocal cords to be damaged. Wyche was in important part of the Bucs getting on track leading to their eventual SB win. He drafted Sapp, Derrick Brooks (HoFers) and John Lynch (future HoFer?).......turned the mindset of the franchise around.

Wish him the best.

Reports that a heart has been found and prep work is happening now. If all checks out, he could be going through transplant surgery tonight.

I hope he gets better and I think he's still awaiting heart transplant. After his coaching career he worked for NBC Sports as their color commentator and studio analyst, TBS for college football, CBS Sports for NFL football, and Raycom Sports for college football.

Do you even remember his once famous quote? "You don't live in Cleveland, you live in Cincinnati!"

Apparently Sam had the transplant last night at about 3am. 4.5 hour surgery and friends say he is in recovery.
