I saw this article today, and thought, maybe I should just give up on the whole mess of self important spoiled babies. Most of these guys have been treated special and better than most of us, and then they want to lecture us?

I'd be more willing to protest because of all the forced commercial breaks to watch the same 3 commercials over and over and over for 3 hours plus for a game that should flow much faster.

The issue with the National Anthem is a non-issue to me. This is tabloid rubbish. I don't care who sits or stands during the anthem or for what reason. That's not why I watch a football game. Sports should be an escape from politics and faux-nationalism, especially since in most cases, as with the NFL, there should be no intersection.

Don't care, people are going to do what they want to do, protest, then protest the protest, and on it goes. The media will have a field day reporting on it.

Personally when I'm trying to catch up on some NFL news about other teams besides the Packers, I don't want to hear about this issue a gazillion times.

Will it make me stop watch the NFL games, not a chance!

So...

The repeated instances of domestic abuse (Rice, Manziel, many others)... the rape charges and allegations (Roethlisberger, many others)... beating a child bloody with a stick (Peterson)... dog fighting (Vick)... murder (Lewis)... you could tolerate those.

But sitting down during the national anthem? That's just a bridge too far?

I have a lot of respect for this gesture by the Seahawks. They are coming together as a team to bring attention to important issues that impact everyone in one way or another by the act of protest. I am behind them 100%. The fact that the protest will fall on September 11th is ironic to me. The fact is that day America got brought together and we've become more divided since then and this protest will be in the spirit to address issues that divide us.

Oh.
Gee.
For committing a crime?
I suppose that's the LEAST they could do.

Meanwhile the sheer volume of thugs, drug abusers, and wife beaters in that league is astounding and people are still turning out in droves to watch the NFL.

Not to mention giant cheaters like Belichik.

I won't argue with that. Ultimately it's entertainment. People still listen to Chris Brown, and R Kelly with their pasts.

Entertainment has a high value in this country, so people do overlook transgressions. And many people make money from entertainment. So who wants to kill the golden goose?

Sorry, I can not "quit watching", because I very seldom watch football on tv at any level; high school, college, pro, I normally just don't watch it.
