Hands down, my favorite current NFL broadcaster is Al Michaels since Pat Summerall and John Madden are no longer on the air. It will be a sad day when he retires. Also, I like Marv Albert and I forgot to add him on the poll. He's more known as a basketball announcer, NBA especially, but he also called some football games for many years with NBC and called at least seven Super Bowls on the radio with Boomer Esiason. Also I could have added Curt Gowdy. He was best known as a baseball and football announcer. He was the lead announcer for the NFL on NBC before Dick Enberg took over full time in 1979.

Curt Gowdy got the boot from MLB after a world series which he was showing his bias favoring the Boston Red Sox.
After that I think he was stuck doing the Winter Olympics or something.

Where is Troy Aikman? His analysis is excellent.

Joe Buck sucks. So does Phil Simms.

I actually love listening to Jon Gruden.
He has superior football knowledge, actually has a personality and gets legitimately excited about the game during broadcasts.

Basically everyone on current CBS broadcasts pits me to sleep. SO DRY AND BORING. Zzz Zzz Zzz...

Ironically, i always liked Aikman..... but of course, Buck kinda bothers me so i mute.. I got a text yesterday during the Falcons/Packers game from a friend and they specifically said. " I think Troy wants the Packers to win"... so i turned up the volume and ugh.. the bias was obvious and hard to listen to... and yet Packers fans petitioned to NOT have Buck and Aikman announce the Packers/Cowboys game???? .. as much as those 2 drool over Aaron Rodgers.. I get that different fans see and hear different things but i didn't have a dog in yesterdays race.. so when i got the text i turn up the volume to confirm and there it was.. smack in your face.. They certainly gave the Falcons some love but they were tripping over themselves making excuses as to why the Packers were playing like crap....

Al Michaels is my favorite. Anyone ever notice how he sounds just like Alan Alda?
