So the Falcons are living dangerously by wearing their red jerseys in the Super Bowl. In case you've not kept track: 11 of the last 12 SB winners have worn white. This year the NFC team as the "home" team received choice of color.

If you believe in the above superstition then you have to like the Pats chances. If you believe in "due theory" (aka "gambler's fallacy") then you're picking the Falcons on with the reasoning that now's as good a time as any to snap the streak.

I'll take the Patriots over the Falcons - unfortunately.

Interesting stat: Pats last six super bowls with Brady, 1st Quarter scoring 0 Points for Patriots and 15 points total for Opponent (12 of the 15 by the Giants). 3 out of the six games were 0-0 after one quarter. I would suspect that first quarter scoring in general in super bowl history is lower than the regular season given the tightness teams come out with playing on the big stage. Two of those sixe games did go onto be high scoring games even though each started 0-0 after the first quarter.

Here is an interesting fact. The younger "only counting SBs set" won't get it, but I like it and of course, I'm older!

With a win in Super Bowl LI, Tom Brady joins Bart Starr as only quarterbacks in NFL history with 5 NFL championships. Brady was the 199th overall pick in the 2000 NFL Draft. Starr was the 200th overall pick in the 1956 NFL Draft.

That is an interesting fact. I'll add to that, that it depends on what you consider the NFL to be. From 1946-1949 the AAFC Champions were the Cleveland Browns (AAFC teams included the Browns, Baltimore Colts, and SF 49ers). Otto Graham was their QB, so that gives him four straight championships. Then in 1950 when the AAFC joined the NFL, the Browns won the championship again. Five straight championships (edit - and so much for the NFL being the "superior" league). Before Otto Graham retired he and the Browns won two more championships, in 1954 and 1955.

So, Graham has 7 championships. In 10 seasons.

Starr "only" has 5. And Bradshaw, Montana, and Brady have 4. As of right now. That might change Sunday night.

Here's an interesting fact:

A victory by the Falcons would put Atlanta in the category of best offense EVER by a SB champion. Until another team wins and averages more points.

NE Pats 27
Atl Falcons 13

Look for Matt Ryan to struggle in the first half. Then make up some ground a the end of the game. Still not enough to stop Brady and his offense. Julio Jones will be have alot to deal with from the NE defense.
