I've watched all of them on TV since 1966, except SB VIII, in Houston in 1973. I was at Rice Stadium for that one.

I was in the Scouts and one of our activities was serving as ushers for the Rice Owls home games. So we also got to serve as ushers for the Super Bowl that year.

Howard Cosell sat in the section tended by one of our guys. He asked Howard for an autograph, and at first Howard refused, then Mrs. Cosell lowered the boom on him. "Come on, Howard...give the young man an autograph!" So Howard obliged.

The great thing about the Super Bowl, if you're a kid wearing a Boy Scout uniform, is that everybody is so drunk they don't realize how much money they're giving you for something you're supposed to be doing for free. Some of our guys ended up with $150 in tips, in 1973 dollars. That's over $800 in 2016 dollars.

Man, those folks sure were drunk. Hope everybody made it home OK.

I watched the first Super Bowl, but it wasn't call the Super Bowl, it was called the AFL-NFL World Championship Game.

Yep it wasn't until Super Bowl III that it adopted its current great name - inspired by a child's toy of all things.

Think my first was the Bills-Cowboys game in Pasadena. The 52-17 blowout. I vaguely remember watching it. First one I remember watching and actually "understanding it" was probably the Cowboys/Steelers game in 1996.

I don't know if I watched or not, but I do remember people being excited about the Redskins last title 25 years ago (holy ---- it's been that long!?). North Carolina was huge Redskins territory before the Panthers were a franchise.

Now the first football game I remember watching on tv I'm pretty sure was that Bills-Oilers playoff game in '93. It might not be but I remember being stunned that Houston had that large lead and couldn't seal the deal. The headline in the newspaper the next day was Oiler Crisis, or something close to that.
