They had it EASY and got lucky with packers not fully healthy!

Cowboys deserved to be in the superbowl, and not some lame boring atlanta falcons.
Well, the Cowboys should have beaten the Nelson-less Packers.

The best team gets in, not the "flashiest" team (even though ATL being the number. 1 offense is pretty exciting to me). Who was the last team to win playoff games by an average of 19.5 points?

Falcons earned their way to the big dance. Who cares that they aren't as "cool" or "sexy" as historic teams like Dallas and Green Bay? Atlanta is the best team in the NFC.

i think dallas was the best team in the NFC, not the falcons. so i will modify your statement,

the best team that day gets in. green bay was slightly better than dallas the day they played, and atlanta was better than green bay the day they played.

I think this thread has run the course, Falcons and Patriots are in the SB, end of story! As they say, any given Sunday and next week, we'll see!

Correct. Remember this thread with the same tone from him? I remain confused on how he still thinks the NFC was weak this year.

I'm still not convinced on cowboys

I'm not convinced the Falcons are a great team. But good? C'mon...

They went 11-5, put up over 500 points, then soundly beat a 10-5-1 team and a 10-6 team led by one of the all-time great QBs. That more than meets the threshold for 'good'.

Personally, I think the Patriots are more likely to win. But I'd put it at something like 60-40. I'm not one of those foolish enough to say that one or the other teams will win. The only reasons people make such claims that I can think of is that they know very little about the NFL in general, or that they find the notion that the team they want to win might lose to be so emotionally devastating that they simply can't admit that it's even possible.

New England is the betting favorite for a reason. But at Atlanta win would only be a mild upset. They're one of the best teams in the league, and they're certainly good.

Atlanta's defense has been performing at a higher level since week 10 or so of the regular season. I think Atlanta is worthy as any team in the NFC.
