We have had a discussion thread going here for a while, will keep this thread but will do THIS

The other thread doesn't have a poll-this one does. Will keep this thread active and will *sticky the thread as well. The sticky comes off come game time. And will lock this thread as one thread is plenty.

like most, I voted the Falcons, of course that might be more wishful thinking. I am anything but a Patriots lover. I do like the name though

I voted for Atlanta and not because I am a homer. Atlanta is just a bad match up for New England on both sides of the ball.

Either the Patriots win soundly or the Falcons catch some breaks and squeak out a victory.

So many people hate the Pats that I may pull for them for that reason. Plus I have to respect the career efforts of Belechik and Brady.

Falcons 39 - Patriots 20, it'll be a good game for awhile but by mid-3rd quarter the Falcons will pull away. The Falcons will win going away. In the end it will be a 39-20 rout.

(After my vote, the voting is Falcons 10 - Patriots 7)

The Falcons just have too many offensive weapons. Yes Julio Jones is a beast but if NE focuses on him then ATL will win with their other weapons. Matt Ryan's poise and calm and nerves is one intangible - it's his first trip to the Super Bowl. Remember Cam Newton last year? But I think Ryan and the coaching staff are taking a good look at that. Against the ATL offense, the NE defense is vulnerable, against the run and the pass.

On defense the Falcons are very strong. The Patriots are not that strong. Tom Brady, who IMHO is the greatest QB of all time, has done a great job with that offense of merely pretty good players. But it is a team game and the Falcons' D does not have any glaring weaknesses.

But, Brady and Belichick is another intangible in this game. With Brady's skill and experience coupled with Belichick's coaching genius, they can easily discover weaknesses to exploit.

So there are two major intangibles, Matt Ryan, and the combination of Brady & Belichick. But I predict a 39-20 win by the Falcons.

I haven't checked NFL Pick Watch in awhile and was rather surprised the media types are going 65% for the Patriots.

2017 Super Bowl Expert NFL Picks

It is interesting as the outlets are mixed in the choices, except NFL Network. I thought Steve Mariucci and Kurt Warner might go Falcons but then again, Kurt is probably a Brady guy. Mariucci doesn't have ties to the NFC I thought he would.

65%, that's pretty strong for the Pats. That's probably why I won't be quitting my day job anytime soon.

The big books in Vegas do not regard the Falcons as any kind of a favorite in the upcoming Superbowl. In fact they are thought of as road dogs trying to complete mission impossible. Given the virtuoso like coaching abilities of Belichick and the incredible level of play of Tom Brady, makes this one a no brainer to me. Julio Jones? Right. Look at what the Patriot defense did to Antonio Brown when they faced the Steelers a few weeks ago. It was a joke. Suffice it to to say that NE will soundly defeat the up and coming Falcons this Sunday.

New England - 34
Atlanta - 27
