I'm seeing some comments on Packer sites about Jerry Kramer, of course, not getting in as a senior designation. They are also talking about TO not being in and but a kicker does!

Someone brought up Michael Irvin stabbing a teammate with scissors and he made it! I don't know much about Owens but there are reactions about him missing out.

Jerry Kramer, Ken Anderson, and Alex Karras should all be in the hall, but I doubt any of them will make it in.

There's 20 or more receivers with TO's credentials or better out there.

There's not a whole lot of kickers with Andersen's.

Whether or not TO deserves to be in (I agree he does) that has no bearing on whether Morten Andersen deserves to be in.. And he certainly does.

7 time pro bowler. Most points in NFL history. Leading scorer in Saints AND Falcons history.

Scoff at kickers all you want.. But recognize a great one when they come along.

Agreed that Andersen belongs in the HoF. Adjusted for era, he's in the top 5 all time in FG percentage for place kickers. Two of the others, Lou Groza and Jan Stenerud, are deservedly in already. Unfortunately, the other two, Gary Anderson and Nick Lowery, likely won't.

Congratulations to all elected. They're deserving.

Joe Jacoby's candidacy looks to be in serious trouble. He made the top ten last year, but this time regressed out and had both Tony Boselli and Kevin Mawae leapfrog him to the top ten. And next year is his last eligible year as a regular candidate.

Don Coryell also regressed, and this was likely his best chance. He's probably toast, too.

Surprised to see Jason Taylor go in first ballot (though he's clearly deserving of the HoF). It probably helped a lot that he he had no competition at LB or DL to contend with while there were two WRs, three DBs, and four OL cancelling each other out.

Am fine with Jerry Jones and Kenny Easley getting voted in. But denying Paul Tagliabue was bad; they wasted a Contributor slot that furthermore could have been used on a deserving Senior.

Actually not surprised TO went nowhere again. They likely made Cris Carter wait a good few years after he whined about not being first ballot, and if anything TO has been even more ungracious about having to wait.

Lou Groza retired in 1968 and at that time he was the top point scorer in NFL history. Don't forget for over ten years Groza also played on the offensive line for Cleveland during the years that Otto Graham piloted the club, IIRC he was right tackle. One hell of a player.

A special note to another kicker who is also in the HOF-George Blanda. He sat out the 1959 season after being dumped by George Halas. Blanda led the Houston Oilers to the 1960 and 1961 AFL championships. He was only a two time pro bowler but he, like Groza won a lot of games with that right foot. Blanda played in 4 decades and was 48 when he retired in 1976. Amazing!
