What's next? Players on both teams get paid & go to Disney World. Head south for the rest of winter with their families to their million dollar homes. Brady looks in the mirror feeling empty & again says - "That's it? There's gotta be more than this."
He will look in the mirror and say i am just not a quarterback I am Tom Brady 5 time winning NFL quarterback and he will go to sleep and dream about being Tom Brady 6 time winning NFL quarterback because only then will he be fulfilled.
It wasn't a great game. First 3 quarters were very underwhelming. A great 4th quarter and first OT in Super Bowl history made up for it.
Also it's good the Patriots play in the AFC. The coaches below for teams that are a threat to NE have not proven anything (Sure Tomlin won a SB but he has been terrible ever since)
Andy Reid (Chiefs)
Del Rio (Raiders)
Tomlin (Steelers)
Vance Joseph - Unknown commodity (Broncos)
Pagano (Colts)

It was a great game. For close to 3 quarters it was great because of how surprising it was that Atlanta looked like they were winning in a blowout, a surprise to many. And even after it was 28-9, the missed XP and an unsuccessful onside kick kept that blowout look alive. And then greatness took over. The best SB in history IMO.

The Falcons are very ripe for a Super Bowl hangover, especially with how they lost. They are solid personnel wise. However with an up and coming Tampa team, the Panthers who have the draft picks and some cap room to get together, it is a far more difficult road back for Atlanta than New England.

We'll just agree to disagree. The epic 4th quarter and first OT in SB history salvaged the game but looking at the game as a whole not that great considering the bland first 3 quarters.
This really won't make or break anything for New England. They will likely be AFC East champs again next season and will likely be a #1 or #2 seed barring some unforeseen injury. They will be a Super Bowl contender until Brady calls it quits, and even then they probably won't slow down a lot.
I don't know what will become of the Falcons. That is the kind of loss that can derail a franchise. They may not admit it publicly but everyone on that roster will have a nasty hangover that for all we know might last the rest of their careers. On paper they should be a contender again but last night might have changed their fortunes forever. Its a shame too because that might have been the cities best shot at another title to join the 1995 Braves for a while.
For New England: Don't really give a (*&^# (If I were a Pats fan, I'd not care about the loser)
For ATL: They do have an up and coming team. I think they make it to the crapshoot known as the playoffs next year. They get some players back and they just gained some valuable experience of playing in the SB. That in no way guarantees they make the playoffs but ATL does seem to be the most balanced team. They get a new OC. We'll see. It was a good year and I hope that it isn't the last we've heard of the Atlanta Falcons.
