My dad had a square that used 2 numbers for the score each quarter. His were 4-8. He ended up winning bc the final was 34-28 but I was thinking about the person who has 8-8. I would think that they have a claim. I know it's not my dad's problem but was wondering if anyone had complications bc of the OT? I'm happy he won but if I had the 8-8, I'd probably be asking for the money.
It all depends on how the pool was written, if is states a 4th quarter payout, then OT doesn't count. If it states end of game, then OT does count.
I had a friend who won a pool because it was clearly written with a 4th Qtr pay out. My friend called the pool originator on it, and even read him his own sheet while the game was still in overtime. He had to honor what he wrote, so there was no end of game winner.
We clearly wrote "end of game" on ours, and lucky for me that we did, because I won $100 on the final score payout!
