I care--some...pretty much only for my team. That said, I usually peek in on a game if it is being televisied, maybe see if a rookie or two of interest is playing, and that is about it--I move on--and then wait more impatiently for the regular season to start.

While I love football at the highest level of love, I cannot watch preseason football that much. The only game I can watch is the 3rd game because that is said to be the closest to a regular season game. But the 1st game where the first stringers barely play is unbearable especially in the 2nd half. The 4th preseason game i refuse to watch.

I care about it. It's an opportunity for the starters to shake off the rust, and the backups to earn or keep their roster spots. I especially enjoy seeing young or fringe players make an impact. Attending pre-season games is fun too, because the atmosphere is very laid-back, almost like a baseball game.

On a related note, the four-game pre-season is fine as it is. Coaches will tell you that they need four games to examine the team and whittle down the roster properly. This is one aspect of the game that the fans should not dictate.

It's nothing more than a scrimmage. But I like getting a look at the rookies.

OK, here is another tidbit, didn't want to start a new post for the schedule. I thought this was interesting, how it is put together:

How the NFL Schedule is Made

I think the preseason should be cut down to 2 games. Let the teams scrimmage if they want to.

As a season ticket holder, I feel charging full price for meaningless games played by backups and future cuts is a ripoff by the NFL and its owners.

I agree & the regular season should add 2 games to 18 games annually.
