Why indeed has the talk radio shows buzzing this a.m.! Many teams are probably thanking the Bears for starting a run on offense instead of defense. Sure will be interesting to see how this all shakes out down the road!

Best pick of the night was Watson to Houston. I really like that fit for both player and team. Watson should likely start day 1 and also have a real good shot at making the playoffs in his first season.

That was some pathetic maneuvering da Bears did last night! Someone in the front office should be fired immediately. #goVIKES

seems unfair that the league wouldn't give the Vikings a conciliatory pick at the end of the first round since they didn't have one of their own...sure you can come to the dance but you can't dance with anyone

Kansas City, Chicago and Jacksonville all made the worst moves of the night, imo. Drafting a RB in the first round???? Trading away 3 picks to move up one spot?????

So what about Carolina?

I disagree about Jacksonville. Their biggest need is OLine and none were worth that high a pick and with Trubisky gone no way to trade down, so filling another big need was a sound decision. Same with Carolina also.

I agree. Jacksonville is going to reinvent themselves a bit by becoming more of a running team and riding Fournette 300+ times next year and trying to limit Bortles' throws and, by default, his mistakes\turnovers. They aren't wrong in thinking that they need to do that.

What's unfair about it? If you trade your first round pick for a mediocre QB, don't cry that the rule is unfair.
As an Eagles fan, I would like to thank the Vikings for giving them a 1st round pick, which ended up being Derek Barnett.

Glad to see my Browns didn't take a QB #1, they've made too many mistakes over the years drafting 1st round QBs. I do question trading back allowing Houston to get their QB. Browns had four elite players staring them in the face and traded out of the 12 spot. O.J. Howard, Jonathan Allen, Reuben Foster and I believe Malik Hooker were all sitting there and would have been great upgrades.

Peppers, I like his versatility and great attitude, just not sure he'll excel at any one thing in the NFL.

They traded into the 1st for a third pick in the round and picked up what many considered the 2nd best TE in a very good draft class for that position. Can't fault them for that. TEs can really take pressure off a QB. But they have to find a CB, FS, and RB that can start. Will be a tough challenge, however it has been said it's a deep CB and RB class.

For those scratching their heads over the Bears trading up one spot to draft Trubisky, San Francisco's GM or someone else in the front office said there was at least one other team trying to get to #2. Seems like a bad move only because Trubisky, like all the other QBs in this draft, is a bit of a project. Hope it works out for him and the Bears.

Tonight will be an interesting night. Still lots of good talent available.
