as for gruden, he needs to go away, he sucks as a color commentator.

Agreed, but I don't see Romo staying in the booth as long as most. I figure he'll give it a few years and move on. He strikes me as a guy that will want to do something else. Maybe golf, or front office in the nfl.

He'd be good on the pregame set and let Rex Ryan take the booth and talk x's o's.

He smiles to much for me and too hyper during the game. I wanna believe this has to do with him being nervous and will fade away eventually.

100% agree with this.

In his interviews here on 105.3 the Fan, he didn't sound like a multi-million dollar NFL quarterback. He sounded like "one of the guys" and was easily approachable. He would go on about football and has plenty of knowledge to bring.

That's why I knew he would fit right in.

Ok- my premonitions were wrong after hearing him for the first time last night; couldn't believe initially he could just slide right in as a #1 analyst. But besides the fact that there is nobody- and I mean NOBODY on the other modern day CBS broadcast teams that is exciting or insightful, Romo is a breath of fresh air. He puts excitement into the broadcast without being over the top; he is insightful, off the cuff, willing to call out players and coaches if he disagrees- none of which characterized Phil Simms- how it took so so long for CBS to cut ties with a terrible and boring analyst like Simms, I'll never understand- but perhaps it was worth the wait! Very pleasantly surprised by Romo's performance last night.

He's doing a really good job, and I don't hink he can get hurt while doing it.

100% better than the Dallas home boy Troy Atkins or the over the top loud mouth Jon Gruden who constantly talks over Sean McDonough.

By far and away the best announcers are Cris Collinsworth and Al Michael.

That's why Collinsworth is my favorite play by play analyst.
