I listened to Romo again yesterday and he just doesn't have a TV voice to me and seems like he would be more suited for radio. He is too over the top for a TV broadcast but his style would be great if you are in the car listening to the game on the radio.

Eh...I believe he said play by play analyst which is the other guy...Michaels doesn't analyze the game or the plays...he reports what is going on.

^^ You're correct on Michaels. He does not analyze the game. He just calls the game.

To be honest, for Romo, he's miles better than Phil Simms.

He does wander sometimes but I really enjoy his insight to the offensive aspect of the game.

I gave him an "eight." I think he does a reasonably good job, and he has made other people (that I know) more interested in the game in terms of strategy. That seems good for the sport at large, in much the same way that quality analysis is always useful.

I basically like Romo. He provides a lot of QB insights during his call..

But that said, I'm sitting here watching Pats-Bills 12/3/17.. Tyrod Taylor is having a bad day (65 yards, only 9 completions, & a red-zone pick), and Romo is heaping praise on Taylor (?) Repeatedly mentioning how beloved Taylor is, how great Taylor's work ethic is.. while Taylor is really struggling. Maybe I'm missing something, but seems like Romo's avoiding a fair evaluation of how bad Taylor is playing.

Personally, I liked Taylor @ VaTech, but he's always looked suspect (to me) in the National Felons League.. but that's a separate issue from Romo's commentating skills.
