What do you really want to say here, Suz... ?

Maybe trying to convince myself McCarthy staying is a good thing? I'm not sure what is going on with the Packers!

Bruce Arians, a class act, hard to watch him talk about his retirement, emotional guy.

What's going on with the Packers is Rodgers got hurt.

Capers just got released.

Wouldn't take McCarthy long to find a job if the Packer did something as reckless as letting him go. No reason to.

I know this is for coaches, but Packers are going big time, Ted Thompson GM is stepping down to a different role, Capers the DC is out, plus 2 other position coaches. Packers are shaking it up, for an organization slow to make changes.

Now that Capers is gone it’s time for the Packers to make some changes

Giants need someone to coach the WHOLE team.
Giants fan here as well, and I totally agree. I know the Giants org loves Spags, and I like the guy as well, but he is not the direction the Giants need to go in right now in terms of a HC.

with all these firings, there will be a few good coordinators (former head coaches) available for other teams .....but my team seems to be stuck on who they have for the time being....Mike Smith, DC, was a potential head coach a few yrs ago but his stock went way down after the Bucs had the worst defense in the league. Would be interesting to see Del Rio as DC, but that isn't happening here.

The Packers will have a better defense going forward without Capers.

Caper's time as a defensive coordinator is over. He could find a consultant role somewhere, or enjoy retirement.

The New York Giants are tapping past organization members for vacant positions.

Dave Gettleman, recently hired as the new general manager, was a scout (1998), a pro personnel director (1999 - 2011), and a senior pro personnel analyst (2012) with the Giants. He was recently the Carolina Panthers' general manager (2013 - 2016).

A head coaching candidate the Giants could consider was a defensive coordinator from 1997 through 2001. He was hired out by the Carolina Panthers to be their head coach (2002 - 2010). He also coached the Denver Broncos (2011 - 2014) and, recently, the Chicago Bears (2015 - 2017). He would be John Fox.
