Rumor has it McCarthy won't stay in GB if the money man Ball is made GM. They did get along at one time, but apparently not anymore. He is a money guy, great at it, but I thought GMs were better with a scout background? What do I know?

Vikings blocked their GM from interviewing, Reggie GM for the Raiders (formerly with the Packers)refused to interview, going to be interesting in GB!

Maybe an unpopular opinion but to me, Mike McCarthy isn't a good coach. Surprised he is still in GB.

I've heard it said, if GB let go of Mike M. he would have a job before the elevator got to the first floor. He's in the top 5, I just think the team has needed some different perspective in the various other coaching positions.

I sense that there might be a change in GB very soon, although I doubt it will happen this year. I'm not sure if Rodger wouldn't want a fresh perspective. I get the impression he isn't so high on MM.

In this article at PFT on Ravens decosta and I think I saw it at ESPN also, various reporters had it on their twitter feeds.

Packers want to interview Eric DeCosta for G.M. – ProFootballTalk

oh, you mean Assistant to the General Manager.. that's different, I think this is the guy who laminates the name tags for their new players. Not sure why the Vikings would refuse permission, unless Paton asked them to say that.

I had no clue! At this point, all the hype, articles, good grief every local station carried the presser yesterday!

They needed to do something about the defense last year, were lucky to get to the NFC Championship game. Just do it!

I really felt they had enough to win two SBs at least - really messed up the follow-up season to their Super Bowl, imo....

That was a bizarre season for a defending champion. No reason to think they couldn't repeat. Tampa found strange ways to give games away over and over. The two I recall were the 21 point blown lead to Indy in the final minutes, and I think it was vs Carolina, where Tampa needed just an extra point with no time left (mind you too before the PAT distance was moved back) to win; kick was blocked and Tampa lost in OT. That was weird. But the years after that, Gruden seemed to lose his cache.

I don't think he is the worst but top 5? That is a stretch IMO. You see what type of coach and system he has when AR is down, and it's utter garbage. I know AR is one of the best, if not best QB's in the league but when Brady goes down, they still win. BB has that system and is a very good coach. The same thing can't be said it GB. The only piece on that team that has any value and seems to matter is Rodgers. I do not think in 2 years time that MM is coaching GB. He will get a chance somewhere else, but that is strictly because the man had Rodgers as Qb, nothing more.

As a Bucs fan, I'm relieved. $100/10 yrs is overpaying. I'm happy that they (Bucs) gave current regime another yr to work things out. Good luck to the the Raiders. Gruden as a coach is good for the NFL.
