Patriots will shut down the Jaguars running game and make their inconsistent QB beat them with his arm on the road again with that crowd.
And the Steelers rolled up 6 touchdowns in 2 1/2 quarters.

Over/Under is 46 or so. I like the under in two possible outcomes:

Pats in a route 35-9ish.

Or either team taking in a close 20-16 game.

I like the under 46 and the Jaguars at possibly +7, certainly anything over that (down from 8 or so). While I'm torn on the spread all things not relative to Brady's throwing hand, it sounds as it is going to be an issue, and it isn't outside the realm of the possible, that Hoyer gets the start. I am a believer that Howdy Doody could start at QB under Belichick, and he would be serviceable and capable. So despite the disaster that Hoyer was in Houston and in that wildcard game vs KC, and worst case Hoyer does play, I still like the Patriots 20-16. If Brady plays 60 minutes, I suspect a similar score anyways, perhaps 23-17. Even the 48 degree sunny and calm weather for this Sunday doesn't deter me from believing this game goes under the total.

Brady is a gamer, I think he will play. He is probably the most competitive person in all of Pro Sports. However, I bet the Pats are missing Garappolo right about now.

Although I would love to pick the Jags, I have to go with the Pats this week.

Yeah, it's very difficult to pick against the Pats.

Although many of us might be tempted to do so, it's not as realistic an option as we'd like it to be. There will come a time when the Pats are no longer where they've been over the last several years, and their fans will be speaking unhappily and reacting differently from the way they had gotten used to reacting.

I'd be surprised if the Jags come out on top, however I'd also be happy if they did!

Yet here they are, in the AFC Championship game. One can offer up critique but realize no team is perfect and as the saying goes "on any given Sunday", especially since they weren't even supposed to be in the playoffs this year let alone one win from the Super Bowl. Every now and then those " teams of destiny" pop up with above average talent, a favorable schedule/circumstances and some good old fashioned luck. Not to mention the disrespect factor, that can elevate a team and certainly has in this instance.

There is a 0.0% chance Hoyer gets the start, as long as Brady's right hand is still attached to his wrist he will start, I also doubt it will hinder him significantly

I don't think any of us know enough to assume anything. I'm not counting on Hoyer starting. But 0% I was told by the Weather Channel a few years back for the chance of rain for the next two hours- and I proceeded to leave my moonroof open- and guess what happened next. Moral of the story is that I've seen more scientific examples substantiating zero percent odds that didn't turn out as such than the what might unfold this Sunday.
