Well I and others who responded to the OP failed to bother to read the link. I did not realize initially that this was unplanned! Weird, there was never a game slated for Sunday night. However that hasn't prevented a game being flexed to that slot once playoff scenarios are sorted out after Week 16 on Sundays in past years. Surprised NBC contractually isn't owed a game in Week 17. Must be based on no single game alone determining a division champ/playoff entry, winner takes all. Hence there is a competitive disadvantage no matter what by not starting certain games simultaneously. There is no guarantee any game on at night would mean a thing, even Carolina-Atlanta. I bet NBC would have insisted if Dallas had won yesterday that Cowboys-Eagles be flexed, seeing how the network loves the big NFC East hype machine.
