JJG has been doing a tribute thread for the super bowl winner for the last decade and he's been quite a help to the sports mods on some other things on this sub forum. I'll keep this thread as a *sticky* for the next couple weeks for commentary.

That was a most excellent Super Bowl LII game!

The best team won (Philadelphia Eagles) in a one-game championship square-off, and the best player (Nick Foles) received the MVP award for best wide receiver... uh, tight end... uh, QB trotting into end zone for a pass from a tight end?

All in all, great game and congratulations to the Philadelphia Eagles in their really cool SB win!

Enjoy!

Nick Foles comes up as big as a quarterback could be. He's very rewarding of the MVP trophy. The unsung heroes here are the Eagles offensive line. Though Foles was knocked down plenty, he was not sacked in that game. Not once. Foles went 28 for 43 for 373 yards with 3 touchdowns and 1 interception.

He's traveled one rough road the last few years but the game he played yesterday? Whew!

It's all absolutely incredible. It was a storybook season with a fairy tale ending. Hopefully, we will get to see Carson Wentz, as MVP, hoisting the Lombardi soon.

Doug Pederson is just what this team needed. Thank you football gods!

Foles played brilliantly and deserves everything coming his way. His confidence was outstanding. Something has obviously clicked, because in these playoff games he looked like he should be a starter somewhere. And he definitely outplayed Brady--better ball placement, accuracy, pocket awareness, just absolutely GORGEOUS deep balls, Foles was money last night and will make a ton of money moving forward here soon...

Congrats to the Eagles on that long awaited Lombardi...

Question, what does this say about Andy Reid? Listen, I wasn't a fan of the Pederson hire, I thought he was too inexperienced to take on the task of repairing the dumpster fire of the Chip Kelly era. Clearly I was wrong and thank goodness the Eagles pay people smarter than me to scout coaches. That is the best front-to-back coaching performance I've seen in the Super Bowl in a long time. The guy is 1000x ballsy, but more than that, he got a team that just kept losing big player after big player to buy in and win the whole damn thing...

I'm a huge fan, now. And I can't help but feel that he's cultivated a culture in just two years, that Reid couldn't do in 14. Reid, who consistently put Super Bowl caliber units on the field for Philly, consistently fell short. I think this win is absolutely an indictment on Reid's coaching and inability to win it all...
