Last week a fan ran on the field at a Canadian Football League game and was flattened by Marcell Young, a defensive back for the B.C. Lions. Now that fan says Young injured him, and he has hired a lawyer.
The fan was trespassing onto the field and the player used appropriate force which is legal under Canadian law to control the situation as someone who had the appropriate authorization to be on the field. Hopefully this gets thrown out as soon as it gets there.

if only the CFL had a stand your ground policy, the fan could have been shot dead

Personally, I don't see how any so-called "fan" which willingly trespasses by running onto the playing field during a CFL game -- in order to be disruptive in the first place -- believes they have any case at all.

In my opinion, case dismissed.

Next!

the idiot fan got what he deserved for interrupting the game like he did. and the player did have great form, that is how you tackle someone. hit the hard and knock them down.

Hopefully this got laughed out of the courtroom like the McDonalds coffee lady, or a burglar that breaks into your house and gets bitten by your dog.

It’s treated as a classic example of judicial overreach and greed: A woman, driving in her car while holding McDonald’s coffee between her legs, spills some of the coffee on herself. Inflicted with some minor burns, she sues McDonald’s, as if she shouldn’t have known that coffee is hot and driving with it in your hand or legs is dangerous. And then she ultimately wins millions of dollars from the fast food chain — becoming rich due to a dumb mistake that was all on her.

Only this is all wrong.

In a new segment of Adam Ruins Everything, host Adam Conover explains that basically everything people think they know about the McDonald’s hot coffee lawsuit is false. He walks through some of the actual details of the case:
