Manziel was rushed into starting for a team that he had just been traded to a week or two before.

Please also note that the Alouettes are easily the worst team in the CFL and are dysfunctional off the field, which doesn't help.

Manziel has been fairly well behaved since he came to Canada.

I agree that one game isn't enough to make a decision, and I also agree that his attitude after the game was far improved from the last we've seen. Not against him getting a second chance, but if I'm a GM, there's better options out there.

i do agree with you. manziel is going to have to prove himself if he wants back in the NFL, and not just on the field, but off the field as well. and so far off the field he has do pretty well. we shall see in a few seasons how he has done. as long as he continues to improve, there will be teams looking at him again.

Why do people continue to make excuses for a guy who clearly is not a professional quarterback at any level?

Agreed 100%. He was not set up for success in this situation and no QB could have successfully navigated the cluster he is in now. The most important thing Manziel can do is stay out of trouble and find a way to look decent the rest of the year and he can probably get into a better situation down the line.

Manziel is not in a great situation to succeed right now in Montreal. He is responsible for being in that situation with his past but the team is just awful long before his arrival.

It's only one game. But I will say, being thrown into the starting role 10 days after coming to the team that is already a bad team to begin with, that's probably rough sledding for any quarterback - especially one that hasn't had very many starts in his entire professional career, as well as a guy who didn't play football last year.

But, on the other hand, if he continues to have similar games in the CFL, his pro career will be over quickly. FYI, I did watch him play a preseason game before he was traded, and he did fairly well. Again, it was preseason, but he didn't do badly.

Keep trying, Johnny...

Even the Nawlins Aints from back in the 1970s were unable to do much, and they were sporting an equally speedy QB, Archie Manning! Yes, eventually even they got better!

Just keep your chin up... not to mention a stiff upper lip!

good for manziel, improvement over his first game, and a close loss. he is getting better, and as long as he continues down that path, he will get that team a win sooner or later this season.
