Monday Night Football lost a lot of its prestige when it made the move to ESPN back in 2006. It's been a revolving door of announce teams. I used to really enjoy ESPN's Sunday Night Football broadcast.

Football on Thursday? Trying to provide 365 days/year content is part of the problem. Trying to capture the gambler or fanatic who needs to see every snap of every game just makes individual games less special for the bulk of fans. Those who gave the NFL the high ratings in the past. To who was sold the beer. A broad base of folks when a game was something special on their day off from work.

I love watching the NFL crashing and burning, but at the same time I did watch the game on Thursday Night. I found it to be very slow tempo-ed, and had nothing to do with the weather delay. Penalties all the time, video reviews on meaningless plays, of course the general time outs that teams are allowed, Injuries which seem to happen more. Seems every play ends with a camera shot of a player writhing in the ground in pain.

It just isnít fun anymore. Has nothing to do with politics

So if you "don't even watch the NFL" & " just don't care," then why are you here? This is the Pro Football forum after all. Oh I know. You're triggered by some of the players kneeling & inside you're ecstatic to see the ratings drop. You're here to gloat.

Politics forum is probably a better place for you. Start here.

I'm with you 100%. Not only that, I wouldn't pay all that money for those guys who make too much money anyway.

I enjoy the brand, so I watch. I'm a conservative and I don't care for the kneeling (just play the anthem before the teams come out ... problem solved), but I also enjoy watching the NFL much more than college football. College games are just too long for me to enjoy anymore unless it's Ohio State (my team) that is playing or it's a game of national importance, and even then I find it difficult to devote four hours or more to watching a game.
I will watch just about any NFL matchup. Part of that is the fantasy investment. My dad, long a devoted Cleveland Browns fan, doesn't watch any games anymore. He is a veteran and just fed up with all the garbage of the past few years.
The Thursday night games generally are bad, but I think this one was especially so because starters just don't get all that many reps for three weeks or so leading into the opener. Later in the season, this would have been a much better matchup.
I'm in the camp that Thursday night games should be limited to the second half of the season, from the first week of November forward, as was done several years ago.

"I don't know what's a catch anymore."

Quote from a friend on Wednesday as to why he does not watch NFL anymore.

This post is about the NFL and why ratings are down.

I gave my opinion on why, there are other opinions as well.

Now after reading them, I honesty don’t know why my interest has been falling over the last few years. I used to watch all day Sunday and Monday night... now I don’t.
