I'm not surprised. As ESPN was spending three days singing his praises, I was thinking that he'll be back again - probably with a team that's close enough to win it all but just needs a quarterback. The truth is that despite the fact that this guy is as good as he is, I'm tired of hearing about Bret Favre this and Bret Favre that. Retire already. Go gently into that good night!

Stay retired.

Many boxers retired at the top of their game (years ago ) and couldn't resist the urge to come back . It was hard watching them as their skills diminished .

Some of those boxing legends needed the money. I doubt Favre does.

Yeah but Favre just had his most productive season in years, was I the only one that was surprised he retired to begin with?

I'll take him over our Qb's in DC, Dan Synder always overpays for aged players anyways.

I hope this is not true. He just needs to go away. I just watched the guy cry for like 5 minutes when he retired. You can't come back after that! Maybe he should go play for a minor league hockey team, be terrible, and THEN come back to the NFL.

No, you are not. Many of us were shocked that he did retire. The team was so young last year, and look how well they did. COME BACK BRETT!!!!!

ETA: I read where his publicist said this was not true at all anyway. Brett, nor his agent have been talking with anyone.

Good Favre needs to stay retired so Green Bay can go through 20 years of bad QBs.
