leagues do you compete in? i ask this not because i play fantasy football, i dont, but my brother does and is in ten leagues. i just want to know how many more insane people are out there.
I’m in three leagues, although two are organized by the same forum. I tried doing a lot more leagues a few years ago, but it was too much to keep up with.
I play Fantasy Football every year and love it. I currently have 5 leagues going, but only 1 that I care about. The other 4 I just make sure all the positions are covered. I'm in 1st in the league I try in and doing okay to bad in the rest.
I used to play in two... One here on CD and another one at Yahoo.com.
I stopped when I started losing interest in football. It got to the point where I was rooting for plays against my own teams so my Fantasy guys would do well. Now I watch some football here and there, but don't mess with Fantasy at all anymore.

This my first year out of fantasy... i have been playing about 15 years or so. Just like you, i found my self rooting against my own favorite teams best interest.
I talk with a good buddy of mine every Sunday who is die hard Falcons fan yet has Brees on his Fantasy team. So when the Saints clobbered the Falcons on Thanksgiving, he wasn't upset at all but rather tickled at the number of points Brees got for him... I was the same way to some degree but it bothered me enough to quit. Of course as new generations of football fans clamor to fantasy, you will see more and more fans of players who are not fans of any teams...
Not bashing FF players or fans but its just a direction i don't personally want to go anymore..
my brother is a raiders fan, yet he has patrick mahomes on a number of his teams. so when the raiders play the chiefs, he wants mahomes to have a big game, but he still wants the raiders to win.
its stuff like this that makes me want to stay away from fantasy football.

My son is this way. He doesn't root for any particular team (I think he kinda' pulls for the Panthers, but he's smart enough not to publicize that around me as I'm a staunch fan of whatever team plays against them each week ), but he picks and plays a new roster in Fantasy each week. The constant roster changes makes it exciting for him to follow all the games each week.
But like you said, to each his own.
