I wonder if the Pats win the Super Bowl this year if Brady & Belicheck would retire?? That's about the only reason I'd actually want the Patriots to win. I don't care if they are playing the Rams or Saints I have a less than 0% interest in watching the Patriots in another Super Bowl. Any other combination of Chiefs/Saints/Rams would be great to watch.
I'll make my picks on Sunday afternoon.
I could see Brady retiring - though I wouldn't bet on it.
Belichick? Even less likely. I think he wants to take a shot at adding a ring post-Brady, just to show he can do it without #12. It would be interesting to see how that would go.
That Chiefs defense stepped up big in the Divisional Round. They had a big game in week 17 but who can blame anyone for not being convinced? Against a bottom tier Raiders team phoning it in and trying to get to the off season it isn't exactly impressive. But they played their best game of the season against the Colts.
That introduces an element of suspense to this week's game. If the Chiefs had to win a 38-34 type game against the Colts I'd give them virtually no chance against the Patriots. But because we've seen some signs of life, it's not too hard to believe they just may be playing as a complete team right now.
Texans QB Deshaun Watson has been a guest on First Take the last couple days. He really brings up the collective IQ of this group. Seems like a great guy and a class act too.

I doubt that he will, he didn't win one pre-Brady, in fact he was fired in Cleveland.
In the 20s, not as bad as originally predicted. You would think the outdoor game would be the early one not evening. I don't think the temp will matter to either team, no snow, or sleet predicted.
This is amazing---->its been a full six years (2012) since a road team has won on Championship Sunday, and coincidentally that is the last times both away teams won...
January 20, 2013, for the 2012 conference championship games:
The Niners beat Atlanta 28-24 in a game I remember as really good. The Falcons were up 10 at halftime but were shutout in the second half. And the Ravens traveled to Foxboro and thumped the Patriots 28-13. Incidentally, the Patriots were also ahead at the half and were shut out in the second half...the last time prior to '12 that both road teams won was in the 1997 season when Denver won at Pittsburgh (24-21) and Green Bay won at San Francisco (23-10)...
I had no clue it had been that long since a road team won on Championship Sunday, it seems like it happens more often. And I guess it used to: the Giants won in San Francisco in 2011; the Packers won in Chicago in 2010; the Giants won in Green Bay in 2007; the Steelers won in Denver in 2005; the Patriots won in Pittsburgh in 2004; the Panthers won in Philly in 2003; the Bucs won in Philly in 2002; the Patriots won in Pittsburgh in 2001; the Ravens won in Oakland in 2000; the Titans won in Jacksonville in 1999; and the Falcons won in Minnesota in 1998...
So in the last 20 seasons, road teams have won 13 conference titles, or 32.5% of the games played, the road team has won. A third of the road teams winning isn't a horrible percentage and its obviously skewed by the last six seasons of all home teams winning, as from 1997 to 2005, a road team won in every season...
Chiefs and Rams all the way: well, I can dream can't I. I do think the Chiefs will do it, Rams probably not.
