The season is already long enough. Why add more pointless games that don't matter?

Exactly, just keep it the way it is without changing it.

The regular season games would matter. The preseason games don't. Cut at least one out, IMO, and that makes regular season expansion more attractive. Preseason games are mainly for players looking to make the team or the practice squad. Starters have no business playing in the first couple of games.

It ain't broke... don't fix it.

16 games is plenty. I've never been a fan of preseason.. they can eliminate 1-2 games from that and probably still be able to evaluate players making the team just fine. Doesn't mean they need to add 2 games to the schedule to compensate.

Preseason games is more revenue. They wonít be cutting out any pre-season games if they are not adding games somewhere else either in additional wild card teams or more regular season games.

Right now I think the season length is perfect. Also the timing is great with games kicking off the first weekend after Labor Day and playoffs starting in January and the season ending the first weekend in February.

Yeah forgot about the revenue. Another reason why the preseason doesn't interest me. Just not one of those people willing to pay full price for the preseason experience where you spend maybe 1 qtr watching starters then 3 qtrs watching guys who will be bagging groceries at Safeway in 2 weeks.

It's funny though, I haven't been willing to pay for the regular season experience either. Last attended a Seahawks game in 2011 when I paid $120 for a great seat that went to over $500 after Wilson showed up. Watching it in the living room is a lot easier on the wallet.

Anyway... 16 games is perfect as you said.

Not as much as revenue from regular season games. Tickets are less expensive for preseason contests. Teams make more on regular season games. Ever wonder why the preseason games aren't completely sold out?

If you are a season ticket holder you are forced to buy the preseason tickets. That means for teams like Green Bay, Chicago, Washington, New England where they sell most or all of their seats, fans are paying for those games even if they choose not to show up. It probably works the same for advertisers as well. You pay for the pre-season games even though you donít get as many eyes and ears. Plus, players are paid regular season game checks. Not pre-season. Add regular season games and the owners would now have to pay more game checks.
