The schedule argument doesn't work with any team in my opinion. Teams get paid rather handsomely to play no matter what the schedule. I was surprised by route running, you could see WRs were not where Ben expected them to be. He said the QB has to play better but the WRs have to run the right routes, too.
It is early to declare which teams are definite legitimate playoff teams. Some games have been won by very close scores, which makes you wonder why did that happen? Team skill, defensive scoring or just plain luck.
Steelers still have a good defense and as long as they don't fall behind by two scores or more, they should be in most games -- however, they need some semblance of a running game otherwise teams will simply sit in a zone all game long.

34 individual players have more rushing yards than the Steelers as a team. I'm still amazed that someone made the decision to cut Dwyer and make Redman the starter.
I will always hold out hope. But I don't see much to be optimistic about. They lost 5 of the last 7 last year. The first two this year. When the hell is the last time they lost 7 our of 9 games in any stretch?
The thing is that Todd Haley's scheme is supposed to be predicated on a strong running game and calls for lots of play-action passes ... it seems with losses on the Oline, they've given up even trying. That's ok too if they want to go to a no-huddle spread offense like many others seem to be doing, but right now, they're kind of half-as-sing it.
I dont see the steelers going far this year. Losing 7 out of 9 games is horrible. They have a tough schedule & chicago is a good team. I would hate to see them go to london next week 0-3 & also lose to minn.
The most famous locks in the NFL are getting a trim.
Troy Polamalu, whose long, luscious hair has made him one of the most recognizable athletes in the country, announced Thursday that he would be getting a haircut on Veteran's Day in solidarity with the Veterans of Foreign Wars' "Mane Event." Held on Nov. 11, the "Mane Event" will raise money and awareness for veterans who are returning home from overseas.
This was surely no easy decision for Polamalu, who keeps his hair long as a tribute to his Samoan heritage. In the past he's said he wouldn't shave his head if it meant a Super Bowl win for the Steelers. The six-time Pro Bowler hasn't gotten a haircut in more than a decade, and his mane is nearly three feet long.
