Not yet.

Take a look at all the schedules of the 6 win+ teams in the AFC who are in the wild card hunt and some of the teams they have yet to play.

Broncos: Eagles & Colts
Fins: Jags, Titans, Steelers
Jags: Fins, Colts, Pats
Jets: Colts, Bengals
Ravens: Pack, Steelers

So if the Steelers can win out and they will help themselves and there is alot of potentail "help" out there in the form of the other contenders future opponents. A wild card spot is not such a far out possibility.

Never Say Die!!!!

That is the part of your scenario that troubles me.

Troy will likely still be out against the Browns this Thursday. At least Gay is out with an inury. The Browns played a decent game against the bolts. Since we can't rely on our defense, we have to put up points. Hines Ward is questionable this Thursday. Apparently he injured his hamstring yesterday...probably from bending over when the Raiders gave it to us. Additionally, Heath Miller has dropped passes in two consecutive games. That is very unlike him. He has been so dependable. I'm just saying that we have some issues all around.

I wonder if Ben will question Hines Ward's toughness if he sits out on Thursday?

Did'nt say it was guarnteed

Gay may be out, but I don't have alot of faith on Burnett given the big Q4 drop he had. Heath will come back. I'm not as worried about Hines being out - or anyone else for that matter - against the Browns. Wallace has shown alot of potentail so he can line up against the Browns sorry CB's and get some more minutes this week.

I see a team that when healthy can beat playoff caliber opponents - Chargers, Vikings, Broncos - and has had some injuries & blown some opportunities. Get the starters healthy again and they can hang w/ anyone. Cleveland is a mess right now and should be a good tune up for a stretch run. If - by some ironic tragedy of events - the Steelers lose to the Browns I'll have to re-access my trust in some of the individual talent levels of the players, but I doubt that will happen.

I think we can pull out a win against the Browns. But we still have Green Bay, Miami and Baltimore left to play. I just don't see it happening. I hope I am wrong and we do clinch a wild card playoff spot.

We do have issues all around, not to mention injuries. It has been one injury after another one. Troy being out half the season didn't help matters.

Please leave and go back to your 49ers thread. Oh wait, you're the only one to post in it in over a month. How did the loss to the Seahawks feel? 5-7. Worse record than the Steelers. HAHAHAHAHA.

No doubt it will be tough. Just remember 2005 and keep the faith!

I'm trying OC! There was a press conference today. Tomllin said a few starters are losing their starting position...."going to shake things up" so to speak.

Troy will be out for Thursdays game still.
Gay out with a concussion--not going to miss him.
Ward--possibly out with a hamstring injury.
