So... Do the 'Skins have to win next week to secure a playoff spot or are they in no matter what happens next week considering the Cowboys lost and the Giants most likely will lose too?

Yep, its a must win. if we lose to dallas, we're both 9-7, and both 4-2 in the NFC East. It then comes to "record against like opponents" or something like that, and I believe Dallas would win.
That really, REALLY sucks that Dallas would win over us over a 3rd tier tie-breaker, but I believe that's the breakdown.

Yeah, Cowboys would get the tiebreaker based on better win/loss percentage in common games as they have beaten both the Bengals, Steelers, and the Panthers. Alternate path for the Redskins is for the Bears and Vikings to lose and the Redskins get the #6 seed. The Redskins would have a better conference record than the Vikings and Bears (plus Redskins beat the Vikings earlier in the season). A Seahawks lost to the 49ers tonight would give the Redskins some help just in case.
Redskins and Cowboys both control their own destiny but I like the Redskins since they are more consistent. Cowboys spend too much time playing catch up. For a team consistent as the Redskins, Cowboys can't afford to fall behind early and expect to win.
Interesting fact: despite becoming one of the top offenses in the league, the Redskins don't have a single receiver in the top 50 in yards. I think that might be one of the reasons the Potomac Offense has been so successful: RGIII spreads the ball around in an even fashion, forcing opposing DC's to account for more players every down.
That's also in part due to Garcon only playing for half a season.
Flew to St. Louis today to visit family. I don't think any ensuing moment will top when ss soon as I landed turning on my phone and seeing that the Skins won. Merry Griffmas everyone!
Cowboys vs. Redskins bumped to Sunday Night Football next week.
