I don't think I have ever seen a team ice their own kicker. What was that all about?
According to Garrett's statements after the game, the play clock only had 6 seconds left and they weren't completely set for the kick yet, so they called time out so they could have enough time to get a clean snap and kick. The guys in the broadcast booth said they had enough time to kick the first one and there was no delay of game penalty so your guess is as good as mine...lol.
Here's Garrett and Bailey's comments about it all:
It's not the number of wins you focus on it's how they got those wins. The Cowboys have beaten the 2 losing teams by a FG and was about to do the same thing yesterday and missed. So how confident can I be as a Fan that my team has only beaten one winning team this season while the defense is unable to stop QB's like Rex Grossman, Matt Moore, and Kevin Kolb?
Agreed the Cowboys can't keep playing it this close against inferior teams... They should have scored 24 plus points yesterday vs only 13.. come on.... But you take it one game at a time. your only as good as the last game you played and right now the Cowboys don't seem to be going far in Jan...
They definately invented a new way to loose yesterday, they seem to come up with new ways on a yearly basis.

.... seriously, dude?
So you can have a sloppy ass Super Bowl between (let's say) the Eagles and Chargers. The final score is Eagles 12 - Chargers 7, and you mean to tell me Philly fans will care about the way they got that win?
I'm just glad the 'Boys are over .500, as we all know, it could be much, MUCH worse. But a win is a win. That's all that matters.

Sadly, that doesn't apply to this week...
A win is only a win if it's the Superbowl and there are no more games left to play. If you are in week 12 and winning by the skin of your teeth every week then those wins will start to catch up with you and then you run into a team who blows you out by 60. Winning by a FG is fine once in a while but every week?

wasn't the last time the Eagles won a SB over 50 years ago??? I think they would love that 12-7 win
It was the NFL championship not the SB. I don't even think it was televised during those days.

Yes, pro football was televised in 1960. In the 1950's as well. The first NFL championship game that was televised was in 1948. By 1960 NBC was televising NFL games, with CBS taking over in the mid 1960's.

Oh ok for some reason I thought all the games were broadcast on CBS radio during that time since the NFL championship was not as popular as it is now. Thanks for the history lesson.

Ok.
Then say that to the Super Bowl XL champion Steelers. Or last year's Packers.
Both 6 seeds, not really expected to make it, and they made it all the way, with some of the ugliest games in the final games of the regular season AND playoffs.
A WIN IS A F*CKING WIN, dude.
