and how many times during the game when the cowboys rushed five, and rodgers STILL made plays? rodgers was on his game sunday, and while the cowboys defense played well overall, it wasnt enough. with most quarterbacks you give them time and they will destroy your defense. with rodgers, he makes time even under pressure, and we saw that all game long. he will huge shoes to fill in green bay when he leaves that team.

and he still throws a sideline pass to stop the clock. it might not be as long as the one he threw, but he still gets the ball down field. perhaps on the very edge of field goal range, or not. remember also that green bay still had two timeouts left, iirc, and still had a fair amount of time left on the clock.

You don't only rush three. If he beats you after hurrying him, then so be it. You don't give him any time on 3rd and 20 to make a play which is what we did.

That's how i saw it. I know that when they rushed 5 or more during the game, they got there a couple times. When they rushed 3, they NEVER got there.. Rodgers would always roll out and burn 'em.. it happened over and over.. so in this case rushing 3 was a bit of gamble but i do think Rob was in a pickle no matter what.. if he rushes 5 and Rodgers hits a quick slant, the WR runs 10-15 yards, get down and calls timeout.. your in the same scenario..

My only argument was, even if rushing 5 was low odds.. those odds were higher than rushing 3.. at least IMO.. its catch 22 regardless... Rodgers is a great QB and he made a Great play and we can second guess it all year but it is what it is..

rush three and you have eight back in coverage, rush five and you only have six back in coverage. since rodgers isnt going to run for big yardage, you know he is going to be passing. in the end the reality is someone blew their coverage and left a receiver open.

Exactly!! Its suicide rushing 3. You have to pressure...always. If you get beat so be it. I didn't say rush 5 or 6 there. Frankly Rodgers with time is impossible to stop.
