I too was surprised that the Rams were able to run the ball like they did.
The Cowboys actually converted most of those 4th downs, except for that one that you mentioned, when it was an 8 point game. Pretty much this game was decided by the Rams converting that 4th and goal and the Cowboys not converting that 4th and 1 (near midfield).
No it did not come down to those two play. When you let up 273 yards rushing and you only rush for 47 you are going to lose. Game should have been over by halftime.
Read article about Linehan no longer being OC. His predictability and his conservative nature is an issue as well as how Cowboys offense preformed on 3rd and 4th downs and certain diatance situations, especially when the great o-line we had was injured. Both parties agreed a fresh start is good.
Would like for someone to come in who can work to Dak's strengths.
Doesn't Garrett have a background in offense? Why dont the cowboys make him put up or shut up? Be his own OC.
funny you should mention that, garrett WAS the cowboys OC from 2007 to 2010 when he was named the interim head coach after phillips was fired. starting in 2008 he was also the assistant head coach as well.
Watching how Belichek defense shut down Goff, Gurley and the Rams offense to a measly 3 points....makes me wonder how Dak and Zeke would do against them in the big game. But with Garrett, we wouldn't see them make it that far...
its going to be interesting to see what the cowboys do next season with kellen moore as OC, and john kitna as quarterbacks coach.
