Well, I get to take a behind-the-scenes tour at Bank of America Stadium in three weeks. I'm really excited to be in the epicenter of Panthers Nation.

Default The Official 2012 Carolina Panthers Thread

It's just around the corner! The much-anticipated football season, whether you are an NCAA fan, NFL fan, or both (like myself) you can't wait for the days and nights of hogging the TV to watch everybody play. I believe this season will be special for our home team Panthers, with new coaching staff and promising new players. Will we see the best season yet in franchise history? If not, I do believe we will see ONE of the best, and soon will be playing for the Lombardi Trophy. I'm excited, as I know many of you guys are, so I wanted to start a new and improved thread that we can use to follow the new season of the Panthers. I'll start it off with the ad that Ryan Kalil took out today in the Observer, stating that the Panthers will win this Super Bowl. That sure is a BIG check to write, so let's hope they can cash it. If nothing else, it shows a renewed attitude and sense of urgency within the organization, as Kalil points out in the article.

Quote:
Kalil, a three-time Pro Bowl participant, shared the 178-word open letter with an Observer reporter before buying the ad, which he called “a war cry to the fans.” In it, he predicts this Panthers season will end in New Orleans, with the first Super Bowl title in the franchise’s 18-year history.
Here's the article with some comments from Kalil:

The ad was a crazy idea but sometimes crazy is good... The offense has playoff talent but the D? The other problem is the schedule. First 5 games are crucial.

Well as a new transplant to the city, Im extremely excited about following my new "somewhat" favorite NFL team. Like I have said time and time again, the SUCCESS of a professional sports team in a city adds so much to a city: from visitors, to excitement, to MONEY from/to merchandise/tickets/bars/restaurants/sponsors, to just an overall BUZZ around the city, which indirectly may cause an EVEN BETTER nightlife scene in Charlotte.
Banners go up all over the city...TV stations start to nationally televise more games, which also brings in revenue and recognition, car-flags, everyone in a jersey around town...HOW EXCITING!!!!
I really hope the live up to the hype and make it to the playoffs, and contend. It would be a great introduction in my new city!
GO PANTHERS

The season will be fun but Kalil is too full of himself. No way we win Super Bowl this season.

I don't think too much about him taking an ad out in the Observer....Nobody reads it anyway

I am excited about the upcoming season, I think Cam will be electric this year and will really come into his own as he grows as a QB.

I'm a Steeler fan but last year I found myself watching the Panthers game and screaming at the TV. I'm a huge Cam fan and this team is fun to watch.

I hope the Panthers have a very good 2012 season. The Panthers are overdue to win the NFC South, run deep into the postseason, and conclude the seson as Super Bowl XLVII champions.

Now that the NFL has hamstrung the Saints, the Panthers may have a chance in the division.
