So, when a Philly fan says the 'road to the playoff goes through Philadelphia' they're really just saying Philadelphia is a dead end?

And this last game is the perfect example, the Eagles should have won it, could have won it and just didn't. I would rather not go to the playoffs then lose the way the Eagles manage to lose all the time in the playoffs.
Very, very well said.

That is why everyone picked the packers because for some strange reason the eagles played better on the road.

The way the pack beat up on ATL makes me feel a little better in that we were a play or two from beating them in both games this year. And we held Rodgers under 200 yds. passing in both games.

EDIT: My bad, it was his second year.

Clock was ticking on McDermott since 2009

Trent Cole, who could not be reached for comment, told reporters earlier this season that he did not like McDermott's zone-blitzing schemes, which required the defensive end to sometimes drop back into pass coverage.

...

When Reid conducted exit interviews with the players a day after the Green Bay loss, one or two defensive starters told the coach that McDermott should go, team sources said.

Plus, Eagles were last in the league at allowing touchdowns in the red zone.

Now it's starting to make a little more sense about the firing.
