With the wideouts that Peyton has to work with I want to give a shoutout to John Elway for drafting Julius Thomas.
Thomas was drafted in the fourth round and came out of Portland State. He originally got to Portland State on a basketball scholarship and did not play football until his senior year. IIRC he was set up on the 2011 practice squad, moved to the active roster in mid season (I think.) And finished with five receptions. Last year he was injured and missed the season. THIS season however he is showing the talent John Elway thought he had and is right up there stat wise with Eric Decker, Demarius Thomas, and Wes Welker. To date Julius has 27 catches for 359 yards and six touchdowns. Having a heck of a season so far and this guy has the potential to get even better.
Julius reminds me a lot of Antonio Gates. Both had similar situations. High school football experience, college basketball experience.
Just wait Bronco fans.....You see what sub-zero temps did to him last year....
You're right, it was all about the temps. Had nothing to do with Willis McGahee being on IR prior to the game or Knowshon Moreno going down in the 2nd half. And neither Fox's conservative playcalling nor Rahim Moore's blunder played any factor whatsoever. It was all about the cold weather. Plus, those Patriots sure showed us how awful the Ravens were...
About a year ago at this time he got into John Fox's and Elway's doghouse regarding fumbling. Was deactivated week after week after week. But he didn't sound off in the media or sulk on the sidelines. He still kept a positive attitude, encouraging teammates during games. Late last season after MaGahee's injury he got that second chance and made the most of his opportunity and played solid ball until his knee injury. And I was worried about that ACL. He's doing good this season as well. Those were 93 tough yards he gained Sunday against the Cowboys defense.

I think it was the Peyton communicated that the temps were affecting him, and therefore the conservative play calling. Did you see the look on Mannings face, he looked like he was absolutely miserable. Ever get injured? Feels horrible in the cold. Bet that neck injury affected his arm stregnth. Denver did a good job of covering it up. Last time I saw that kind of frustration and discomfort was watching Bret Favre a few years ago in the playoffs agains the Giants.
The injury report was released today. Bailey and Harris are probable, but Ayers and Woodyard are doubtful. I doubt this will matter too much against the Jags.
The Jags gave the Broncos the ball on a short field, but to their credit they made the Broncos work for that TD to open the scoring today. Credit the Jags, they are not going to roll over and play dead.
The Jags look like they're trying to take Manning out
Once the game is won pull him from the game
