They were cheap seats up on the 4th level. Luckily the stadium is built more vertical instead of horizontal, so the vantage point was still good.

Anything you saw that you were surprised by? Or did they have a very similar gameplan as you assumed they would? Week 1 usually throws even the most astute fans some curveballs, which is why I am asking.
It was pretty similar to what I expected. Lots of 3 and 4 wide sets with motion out of the backfield. Game plan seemed to be pretty similar to what Josh did with the 2007 Patriots.

Solid commentary, BTW! Will comment on a few things later.
Jacksonville has historically had attendance problems. There were lots of empty seats even with four blocks of the upper section covered (a gimmick to circumvent the TV blackout rule I was told) and I'd say that 25% of the fans left after the weather delay.

This just in. With the placing of Lendale White on injured reserve regarding the achilles tendon injury, the Broncos have made a move. Adam Schefter of ESPN has reported that the Broncos have acquired New England Patriot running back Lawrence Maroney.

The Broncos will send a 4th round draft pick to the Patriots in the 2011 draft and receive a 6th round draft pick for 2011 along with Maroney. I haven't heard of any Bronco player being released to make room for Maroney but if I hear anything I'll get the news out ASAP!

A couple quick observations; we are hurting on the offensive line on the experience factor, but it could have been worse, much worse. Moreno averaged 4 yards a carry, 15 for 60 yards. Orton was sacked 3 times, really took some shots in the 4th quarter, but passed for 295 yards. Ryan Harris won't be ready Sunday against Seattle, but will the Sunday after against Indy. Ryan Clady made a couple errors at the start (kinda rusty still after being inactive with the surgery) but done great at the end. A "rusty" Ryan Clady would be better than 75% of the other left tackles in the league.

We have to do better on special teams. Both our kickers are fine, (Colquitt is a great punter, what a find he's turned out to be), and Praters 54 yard field had room to spare, but kick coverage was not good. You can't let the opposing team start their drives on the 40 yard line.

UPDATE ON BRANDON STOKELY!- The Broncos have given Stokely his release and settled up with his contract with him. He had been put on IR last week with the groin injury. COMMENT: I could see this coming with the emergence of our two rookie receivers who have come on strong, particularly Willis. But he'll be missed. He's an excellent slot receiver, great hands, goes across the middle, and Ed McCaffrey type receiver. And like McCaffrey a good guy in the locker room. But he's had a lot of concussions in his career, and IMO he should call it a career. One source I googled several days ago had him at 10 concussions in his career. Granted, several are slight ones but he's had a few big ones. Regardless, good luck to him regardless what he decides to do. I have spoken favorably of him in the past because I met him at a Bronco function a couple years ago. Good guy!

A couple quick notes. Lawrence Maroney won't play this Sunday, according to Denver news channels, will be ready for the Colts game on the 26th.

Denver is favored by 2. Not sure what to make of the Seahawks, they weren't pick to do that great this year but sure tatooed Frisco last sunday. We'll see! Go Broncos!

Listened on KOA radio. Sounded like a pretty good game.

I have read some comments here and there our special teams still need work though.

Just got in, was there at the game. Denver's official high yesterday was 95. Five degrees hotter in the stadium, ten degrees hotter on the field. Will comment later.
