Right, and then been absolutely worthless for the Super Bowl. Or maybe even ended his career.
Yeah, every time I hear about somebody playing "seriously hurt" the first thought that pops into my head is "If the back-up is THAT bad then why are they even on the team."
I just think in a lot of those situations the player that played while seriously hurt probably played worse than their backup would have. Ending in some "heroic victory" sometimes but more often turning into a quiet loss.
I'm just surprised (and pleased) he got all the way down to the 29th pick without getting scooped up by another team first. I guess not many teams need help on their O-line as bad as the Bears do.
Some say the lockout ending is the biggest bears news. I for one, think the real big news is that Jay called off his wedding with the reality "star" (Lauren is hotter than her anyways). I think this will have a profound impact on his td/int ratio
We traded Greg Olsen why?
We signed Roy Williams why?
We did not sign Sidney Rice why?
I can't answer the latter two questions, but the Bears traded Greg Olsen because the current offensive scheme calls for a TE who can at least block a grade schooler, let alone a DE or cornerback. I'm sad to see him go, but I can't believe they couldn't do better than a 3rd round draft pick.
